Visrual disparities

I like my picture reflection in distance. In my dark color syles and humble budget, I manage to look just fine. If I had to ask a "tourist" to take me the same distant photo on the beach, it looks horrible. How can a third party (Photo shooter) affect the reflections of lights, notwithstanding aging and stress factors ?
